Melamchi water distribution in Kathmandu to be stopped from June 15 for a month



KATHMANDU: The distribution of water from the Melamchi Drinking Water Project will be stopped for a month from June 15.

The Project has stated that the water has to be stopped for tunnel testing.

According to Rajendra Pant, divisional engineer of the the project, they were sending water during the three-month trial period, which has ended.

He said that a team of engineers will check if there are any defects in the tunnel. It will take at least 15 days to empty the water, and 10 days to inspect the tunnel.
