10 more Nepalis succumb to COVID-19 in India this week



LONDON: As many as 11 Nepalis, including 10 in India, have died of coronavirus this week around the world.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), with this week’s 10 fatalities the number of Nepalis who lost their life due to coronavirus infection in India has reached 71.

One more person died in Saudi Arabia this week.

According to the data prepared by the Health Committee of the NRNA till Saturday evening, 382 Nepalis in 21 countries, including in India, have died due to covid 19.

The coordinator of the Health Committee under NRNA, Dr. Sanjiv Sapkota, more than 20,000 Nepalis living in India have contracted coronavirus. More than 17,000 of them have recovered from the virus.

So far, 86,679 Nepalis have been infected in 54 countries of the world, out of which 82,197 have recovered.

This week, Nepalis in Malaysia, India, Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia have been infected with the coronavirus.
