Five secretaries in Sankhuwasabha for on-the-spot monitoring of Arun III



SANKHUWASABHA: Five government secretaries on Wednesday monitored the 900 MW Arun III under-construction project in Sankhuwasabha district.

They went to Sankhuwasabha to acquire information about the progress of Arun III.

A team of Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane, Energy Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Poudyal, Finance Secretary Shishir Kumar Dhungana, Defense Secretary Reshmiraj Pandey and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Sushil Bhatt reached the district.

The team also reached the construction site of the dam at Fyakshinda of Makalu Rural Municipality-5 and Pukhuwa and inquired the progress of the project.

Arun Dhiman, CEO of Sutlej Company Tumlingtar, informed the team about the under-construction tunnel and the underground building being constructed for the powerhouse.

The foundation stone of the Arun III project was jointly laid by Prime Minister KP Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on May 12, 2017.
