Prachanda-Nepal SC meeting finalizes agenda of changing PP leader

KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has finalized the agenda to change the parliamentary party leader.

The meeting has finalized the agenda of changing the parliamentary party leader. A meeting of the faction’s central committee to be held in a while in Peris Danda, Koteswor will discuss and finalize the agenda.

According to a central member of the faction, the Standing Committee meeting decided to take the agenda of changing the leader of the parliamentary party to the central committee meeting.

The faction had earlier decided to elect Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” as the leader of the parliamentary party after the dissolution of the House of Representatives by Prime Minister KP Oli on December 20.

The Election Commission, however, refused to recognize the decisions.

The CC meeting, meanwhile, will dwell on the latest political developments following the reinstatement of the House of Representatives and chalk out the future strategy, said Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the faction.

Encouraged by the decision of the Supreme Court to reinstate the dissolved HoR, the Prachanda-Nepal faction is now mulling to form a new government in collaboration with the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).
