Come back, or you will be diminished: PM Oli warns Prachanda-Nepal faction

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has urged the dissident Prachanda-Nepal faction to either come back to the party, or face consequences.

“I urge you to come back, there is still some time. If you don’t, you will be diminished,” he told the dissident faction.

Prime Minister Oli remarked that the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been accustomed to telling lies.

“I heard that they have been claiming majority in their faction,” PM Oli said, asking, “Can you justify the claim?” He asked the Prachanda-Nepal faction, “Where did you count the heads to claim that you have the majority?”

Addressing a meeting of the party supporters in Kathmandu on Sunday, PM Oli alleged the rival faction led by Prachanda-Nepal of playing foul in every step.

He claimed that as many as 280 meetings were held at Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s residence in Khumaltar to split the party.

Urging his supporters to be assured of getting the Sun as the party’s election symbol, PM Oli said, “Be assured, our faction will get the Sun as its election symbol, no doubt.”

PM Oli also ridiculed the Prachanda-Nepal faction for staging a protest in the streets with the “We are here” slogan. “Yes, the time has come for you to be there.”

The time will come to say “I am here” one day since you will be left alone soon and get diminished. “I, therefore, urge you to come back to the party by abandoning all your self-centric desires.”

“I know, you love chairs. Therefore, your chairs are still waiting for you.” However, the campaign towards prosperity will move ahead even if you do not come.

He urged them to come to the party’s meeting saying, “You are always welcome to come to the party meeting. Come with confidence. Your positions are still intact.”

PM Oli also reiterated his claim of holding the general elections within the stipulated dates.
