Prachanda-Nepal faction holds SC meeting in Parisdanda



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party held its Standing Committee (SC) meeting at Parisdanda, Kathmandu on Sunday.

The meeting discussed the faction’s upcoming moves and strategy.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has announced a protest program against Prime Minister KP Oli’s abrupt dissolution of the House of Representatives.

The faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal has termed PM Oli’s move “unconstitutional, undemocratic and regressive.”

Among the 44-member Standing Committee of the then CPN (Maoist), 29 are in the Prachanda-Nepal group.

The faction had made former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara as a member of the Standing Committee.
