Beijing sending three-member team to Nepal yet again

KATHMANDU: China is preparing to send another team to Nepal to hold political dialogue with Nepal’s political leaders, Hindustan Times reported citing individuals familiar with the matter.

According to the report, a three-member team will arrive in Kathmandu soon “to reach out to prominent politicians”, particularly Prime Minister KP Oli, Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leader Madhav Kumar Nepal in Kathmandu.

It should be noted that a four-member team led by Guo Yezhou, vice-minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, returned to China without accomplishing the objective of uniting the two rival factions of the Nepal Communist Party, according to the report.

It said that the second three-member team comprising Zekun Lai, Dongme Huang and Yonglin Zhong, quietly travelled by road from China to Nepal before Guo landed in Kathmandu last week.
