Senior leader Poudel stresses unity within NC

POKHARA: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Ramchandra Poudel has underscored the need for maintaining unity with the party.

He said so while inaugurating the Gandaki Province convention of the party as part of 14th general convention on Thursday.

The senior leader expressed worry over party’s deviation from BP’s thoughts and principles. BP’s ideology and thoughts must be internalized and party moved ahead accordingly, he added.

Long-term plan should be formulated by reviewing the past, he said, arguing that NC was weakening because it failed to run in a democratic system.

On the occasion, NC General Secretary Dr Sashanka Koirala also viewed the party was enfeebled because of its failure to act in the way BP had envisioned. BP’s thoughts and vision could help make party strong and active.

Similarly, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali, viewed that the atmosphere of convention has made internal organization of the party dynamic. The activism and spirit should be continued, he stressed.

Former general secretary of the party Taranath Ranabhat viewed the convention helps foster internal democracy in the party.
