Ruling coalition suggests CJ Rana to appoint Acting CJ while he is on leave



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the top leaders of the five ruling parties has suggested Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana to appoint Acting Chief Justice while he is on leave.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday morning suggested that the court proceedings should not stop when CJ Rana is on leave.

The leaders have suggested CJ Rana appoint an acting judge as the court has been obstructed for a long time, said Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Communications.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, Chairman of the CPN-Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Janata Socialist Upendra Yadav and Durga Poudel of the Rastriya Janamorcha.
