PHC hearing process of ambassadorial nominees begins

KATHMANDU: The parliamentary hearing process of three ambassadors recommended to India, the United States and the United Kingdom has started.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) held at Singha Durbar Tuesday is set to solicit complaints against proposed ambassadors Shankar Sharma (India), Shridhar Khatri (US) and Gyan Chandra Acharya (UK) for the next 10 days, starting Wednesday.

A cabinet meeting held on October 28 had recommended the three names as envoys to the three countries.

After discussing the complaints received, the PHC will decide whether or not to approve the ambassadorial designates.
