NC holding municipal convention in 10 municipalities including KMC today

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding municipal conventions in Kathmandu district today.

With the Central Election Committee’s direction to hold ward and municipal conventions in the districts where the issue of active membership has been resolved already, the municipal convention is being held in Kathmandu.

Election Officer of Kathmandu and senior advocate Narahari Acharya said the NC is holding conventions in 10 municipalities including the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

However, the municipal convention is not being held in Dakshinkali municipality. “The municipal convention in Dakshinkali municipality will not be held today since the issue of active membership is yet to be resolved,” said Acharya.

People in general are watching the municipal convention of the federal capital city Kathmandu with much curiosity.

The Central Election Committee has already sorted out the issue of active memberships in over 70 districts paving the way for the convention of the party.

The NC has already decided to hold the 14th General Convention from November 25 to 29.
