KATHMANDU: Nepal made a flying start in a football tournament under the 13th edition of SAFF Championship 2021.

Held in Male, the capital city Maldives, Nepal defeated host team Maldives 1-0 on Friday night.

Manish Dangi scored a decisive goal against Maldives at the 86th minute at the national football stadium in Male.

With the win, Nepal has notched up three points.

Nepal will take on Sri Lanka on Monday, third math with India on October 10 and the last match under the league phase with Bangladesh on October 13.
