Lumbini province lawmaker Oli goes back to UML again

BUTWAL: Lumbini Province Assembly lawmaker Bimala Kumari Khatri Oli has returned to the CPN-UML.

Issuing a statement on Monday, lawmaker Oli said that she returned to the UML as she won the election with sun as her election symbol.

Elected as a province assembly member from erstwhile ruling Nepal Communist Party, Oli had chosen to stay in the CPN-Maoist Center after Supreme Court scrapped the ruling NCP and revived erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Center on March 7.

Few days ago, Maoist Center’s Lumbini Province Committee had sought the administration to search lawmaker Oli claiming she could have been under province Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel’s influence.

Lawmaker Oli, whose phone was not working the whole day had come into contact with the police in the evening and had informed that she was in hospital.

The opposition alliance in Lumbini has demanded the removal of Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel alleging that the latter was appointed unlawfully without enough proof of his majority in the assembly.
