COVID-19 infects 725, kills 17 in last 24 hours in Province 1

MORANG: Additional 725 people were confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus in Province 1 in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Province 1, out of 1,331 PCR tests conducted in the province on Sunday, the reports of 313 people came out to be positive.

According to the ministry, 193 cases were reported in Jhapa, 117 in Morang, 78 in Sunsari, six in Ilam, five in Panchthar, three in Udayapur, one each in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum and Bhojpur.

In Jhapa, 53 people were infected in Damak, 42 in Birtamod, 28 in Kankai, 16 in Arjundhara, 14 in Shivasatakshi, 12 in Mechinagar, 10 in Bhadrapur, nine in Buddhashanti, three in Gauradaha and Kamal rurarl municipality, two in Bahradashi and one in Gauriganj.

Similarly, in Biratnagar, 28 people have been infected, 18 in Urlabari, 15 in Sundarharaincha, 14 in Kerabari, 13 in Letang, 12 in Patharishanishchare, four in Rangeli, three each in Belbari and Kanepokhari, two each in Gramthan and Budhiganga and one each in Miklajung, Katahari and Dhanpalathan.

Similarly, 58 in Sunsari’s Itahari, 11 in Dharan, six in Ramdhuni, one each in Barju, Barakhshetra and Duhabi, two each in Ilam Municipality and Chulachuli of Ilam, one each in Rong and Mansebung, four in Phidim of Panchthar and one in Nakhule of Panchthar, one in Belka, Triyuga and Rautamai of Udayapur. One person has been infected in Taplejung. Likewise, one each has been infected in Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Arun of Bhojpur and five outside Province 1.

Similarly, 309 people were recovered in the Province on Sunday. Among those recovered 165 women and 144 men.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 17 people, including eight women and nine men, have died from coronavirus infection. With this, 1,602 people have died from the coronavirus in the State.
