Nepal sees 2,299 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

34 deaths reported across country, Kathmandu sees 428 new cases



KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 2,299 new cases of coronavirus while 3,451 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the 2,476 cases confirmed, 1,391 were detected through RT-PCR method and 908 from antigen-method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 34 infected patients died of the virus infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 9,179 in the country.

There were 316 new cases in Kathmandu, 78 in Lalitpur and 34 in Bhaktapur, making the total cases in Kathmandu Valley 428.
