79 Nepalis in immigration detention centers in US

KATHMANDU: 79 Nepalis are passing their time in various detention centers in United States of America.

According to a report release by the US immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as per June 24 updates, out of 26,222 people held in various detention center in USA, 79 are Nepalis.

Among the Nepalis held in the detention centers, most are in the centers in New York Texas and California.

The government had held them in center for attempting to enter US illegally through the Mexican border.

According to the sources, some of the detained have spent more than one year there.
