PM Oli and leader Nepal hold telephone talks on eve of CC meet



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML party chair KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have held a telephone conversation.

The heavyweights held a telephone talks over the telephone on the eve of the recently restored central committee (CC) meeting.

“CPN-UML Party Chairman KP Oli has held a telephone talks with senior leader Madhav Nepal on Thursday evening in a bid to keep the party united,” said Sher Bahadur Tamang, the secretary at the UML central party office.

The UML on Wednesday dissolved the 10th general convention organizing committee into the CC meeting and has scheduled its first meeting at Baluwatar at 11 am today.

However, the leaders of the Nepal-Khanal faction have decided not to attend the CC meeting, saying that it is illegal.

Oli and Nepal will continue talks even today, sources have said.

UML leader close to Nepal Bhim Acharya confirmed the talks held between party chair Oli and Nepal. They will continue talks even today, said Acharya.

Acharya has informed that the Nepal-Khanal faction has urged the establishment to postpone today’s CC meeting.

The Nepal-Khanal faction had signed in support of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba proposing him as the Prime Minister of Nepal. The intra-party dispute of the ruling UML further soured following the signature.
