UML holding CC meeting today first time following its revival

Nepal-Khanal faction to abstain

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML is holding a Central Committee (CC) meeting today for the first time following its restoration.

The CPN-UML has invited all Central Committee (CC) members, including senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Natha Khanal, to attend the CC meeting.

The CC meeting is being held for the first time after the 10th National Convention Organizing Committee (NGOC) was scrapped Wednesday.

UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli had been ignoring leader Nepal in other meetings of the party in the past. It may be noted that leaders of Nepal faction did not attend Wednesday’s meet.

UML central Office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang Thursday said a letter notifying about Friday’s CC meeting was sent via email to all leaders, including leaders of the disgruntled faction led by Nepal.

With the dissolution of the 10th NGOC, the action taken against 11 people, including leaders Khanal and Nepal, has been nullified, said Chairman Oli.

He also nominated former Maoist leaders, who joined the party on May 17, 2018, to the CC yesterday.
