UML holding Standing Committee meeting today

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML is holding a Standing Committee (SC) meeting on Wednesday.

A meeting held on Tuesday had decided that the party leadership would maintain maximum flexibility for the party unity.

The SC meeting has been called at Baluwatar at 4 pm today. However, it has not  been revealed what agenda the meeting will dwell on.

The leaders of both the factions – Oli and Nepal-Khanal- have intensified efforts to narrow down differences of the ruling party which, earlier, was on the brink of split.

The action which the establishment faction was planning to take against leaders of the disgruntled faction was stalled following a meeting of the second-rung UML leaders at Yak and Yeti Hotel on Monday.
