KATHMANDU: The district administration offices of the Kathmandu Valley are making preparations to extend the prohibitory order from June 4, with some relaxation.
A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur Tuesday discussed extending the order until June 14.
Based on the one-week-long stricter prohibitory order, the upcoming prohitory order will be slightly modified with some relaxation, said Chief District Officer of Lalitpur District Dhundi Prasad Niraula.
“The probitory has been effective in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of cases are also declining gradually. We will extend the order with some relaxation,” said Niraula.
Grocery shops and departmental stores will be allowed to operate until 9 am in the upcoming order.
The CDOs of the three districts are holding a virtual meeting today to come up with an official decision.
The virtual meeting will begin at 10 am, according to Lalitpur CDO Niraula.
The current prohibitory order is expiring tomorrow midnight.
