US DV winners submit letter to FM seeking to create environment for visa interviews

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s US DV lottery winners have written a letter to Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali urging him to take the initiative after the US embassy refused to issue the visa.

They said that their visa tenure is going to expire soon. The DV winners for the fiscal year 2021 have only four months left to get a visa.

Those who do not get a visa by the end of September will not be able to get a visa thereafter. In a letter to Foreign Minister Gyawali, the DV winners have stated that they are ready to give interviews following the COVID-19 protocol.

The letter urges to create an environment for interviews with those who have coronavirus results showing negative reports, vaccination certificates and other public health criteria.

Last year, US President Donald Trump suspended immigration and even DV visa due to coronavirus pandemic.
