Government to add 1,000 more beds for COVID-19 patients in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population is preparing to add 1,000 more beds as the number of coronavirus patients admitted to COVID-19 hospital in Kathmandu has increased significantly.

Dr Sameer Kumar Adhikari, Joint spokesperson at the ministry said that they are preparing to add 1,000 beds.

Government, private, semi-government hospitals, and public sectors will be used for the treatment of the COVID-19 patients.

Similarly, the Health Directorate, Health Office, Kathmandu, Ministry of Social Development, has requested the non-government, community, and private hospitals with 25 to 200 beds in the district to register for COVID-19 treatment within three days.

The listed hospital will be provided Rs 3,500 per person per day in isolation, Rs 7,000 for treatment of moderately complicated hair, and Rs 15,000 for treatment including ICU and ventilator, according to the health office.
