NC reaches consensus to seek PM’s resignation

KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress has reached an agreement to take initiative for forming a new government after seeking the resignation of Prime Minister KP Oli.

The NC CWC meeting held in party office in Sanepa Friday evening reached an understanding to this effect.

The NC CWC meeting was called at 2 pm earlier today but the meeting had delayed.

According to sources, top NC leaders held discussion among themselves and reached an understanding to lead efforts to form new government before the CWC meet convened in the evening.

Various leaders of the party had been pressuring the leadership to make its stance clear on power-sharing ever since the Supreme Court reinstated the House of Representatives (HoR).

The CWC meeting has finally made the decision after engaging in talks with several factions in the party.

Earlier, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held discussions with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) leaders on the possibility of forming a coalition government.
