Prez Bhandari lauds late PM Bhattarai’s vision

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed gratitude towards former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai for his vision of addressing water scarcity of the capital valley by bringing water from the Melamchi River.

Speaking at the inauguration program of Melamachi Drinking Water Project’s water distribution in the valley, President Bhandari started her speech recalling the visionary saintly leader late Bhattarai and thanked him for his dream project.

“I would like to express gratitude to then Prime Minister late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai for his dream of quenching the thirst of Kathmanduites by bringing water from the Melamch River of Sindhupalchowk,” President Bhandari said.

She also thanked all the stakeholders including the locals, bureaucrats, Melamchi project staff and the governments and lauded Prime Minister KP Oli for his pro-active role in making the project a success.
