Fire guts at least 36 houses in Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG: As many as 36 houses were gutted in a fire which broke out at Dobhan Bazaar in Taplejung Tuesday morning.

The fire that broke out at around 9:05 this morning has yet to come under control, locals said.

The bazaar is Taplejung’s busiest market after district headquarters Phungling, according to locals.

The fire spread rapidly since most of the houses there are made of corrugated zinc sheets and wood.

Meanwhile, a fire extinguisher from Phungling is trying to bring the fire under control.
