KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) called for Wednesday has been postponed.

Prime Minister KP Oli, who is also the Chairman of the CC had convened the meeting on Wednesday, a source close to PM Oli said.

“The meeting has been postponed,” a Baluwatar source said citing some “internal formalities” to be completed.

PM Oli had called the meeting after Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota sent back the recommendations made by the Constitutional Council for the parliamentary hearing of the officials recommended for the constitutional bodies.

A meeting of the CC meeting on December 15 had decided to fill all vacancies lying in the constitutional bodies.

It had recommended Prem Kumar Rai to the Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) chief.

Likewise, former Nepal Police AIG Kishor Kumar Silwal and Jay Kumar Chand were recommended as CIAA Commissioners.
