PM Oli calls Constitutional Council meeting

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC).

The CC meeting will take place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at 11 am on Wednesday.

The meeting will dwell on some appointments and the performance of the Constitutional Council, according to Baluwatar sources.

Prime Minister Oli had made appointments in some vacant posts through ordinances prior to the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The appointment is completing the period of 45 days tomorrow.

A provision has it that the President can directly make appointments in the posts recommended by the cabinet in the absence of parliamentary hearing.
