Indian Ambassador Kwatra calls on Health Minister Khatiwada

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra called on Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada on Monday.

During the meeting, Minister Khatiwada said that further cooperation in the health sector should be advanced as an important part of Nepal-India relations. Minister Khatiwada appreciated Indian support of medical supplies to Nepal during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, Minister Khatiwada urged the Indian side to provide 200 dialysis machines against the backdrop of increased number of kidney patients in Nepal. He also praised the ambulance assistance from India to Nepal calling it a part of cooperation.

Regarding a proposal from India to give mutual recognition on COVID-19 vaccines administered by both countries, Minister Khatiwada said that further process would be initiated after getting a nod from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs on the recommendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
