NC leader Sitaula favors fair competition in party’s general convention

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said there should be fair competition in the party’s 14th general convention.

Speaking at a greetings exchange program in Manamaiju, Kathmandu, Monday, he urged leaders and cadres to campaign fairly in the party’s general convention.

“We are in the process of holding a general convention. Do compete fairly, don’t give in to any pressure, use your own discretion, accept the results of the convention. It all leads to a stronger party,” said Sitaula, who is also former General Secretary of the party.

He also expressed concern that the crisis in judiciary could weaken the democratic system. “The NC has solved most problems in the country. If necessary, it can also resolve disputes in the courts,” he said.

He added that the constitution had changed the model for development of the country and since the previous government could not embrace that constitutinal spirit, it resulted in the change of government.
