UML Chair Oli claims victory in Chitwan in coming polls

Responds to Maoist Center Chair Prachanda's comments

CHITWAN: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said the UML would be victorious in Chitwan in upcoming elections even if the party did not hold its general convention here.

In response to Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Bharatpur Mayor Renu Dahal’s comments that the UML was trying to corner the Maoists by holding a General Convention in Chitwan, Oli said the UML would win Chitwan even if it did not hold a General Convention here. Oli was of the view that Chitwan did not belong to anyone in particular and was a free place.

“We will not be capturing this district just by holding a general convention here. We will win even if we do not hold a general convention here. What is the problem when we hold the convention here? We have held conventions in Butwal, Nepalgunj and other places too. It isn’t any issue,” UML Chiar Oli said.

Oli expressed confidence that the people of Chitwan would not fall for others’ illusion and make the UML victorious in the city. He said the wave of Sun would sweep over Chitwan in the coming elections.
