NC towards consolidating internal democracy: Senior leader Poudel

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel said his party was heading towards consolidating internal democracy.

In his address to a leadership handover of NC Anbukhaireni working committee in Damauli, Tanahun, Friday, he claimed the NC had adopted a democratic practice from ward level.

Senior leader Poudel asserted that no other parties except NC can adopt democratic process and practice in Nepal.  “People’s attraction towards Congress has been on the rise due to its credential of democratic exercise”.

Noting that NC has been the vanguard of democracy, he said they would retaliate if any force opted to undermine democracy. “NC was born for democracy and would continue fighting for further consolidation of democracy”.

He clarified that he had been in the campaign of democratizing entire society. Poudel called for party leadership towards resolving dispute related to active membership in remaining districts. He opined that the party should be stronger than the leader.

On the occasion, newly-elected President of NC Anbukhaireni, Bishnu Panta and other office-bearers were handed over the respective positions.
