KATHMANDU: With the cases of coronavirus infections in the country, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has resumed issuing visas to all including Nepalis.

According to sources, the UAE has opened employment, tourist and family visas for citizens of all countries of the world with effect from Monday.

The UAE has also relaxed night activities as the number of people vaccinated against the corona virus has increased and the rate of infection has decreased.

The UAE had long barred citizens of Nepal, Bangladesh, Congo, India, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia from entering the UAE citing the coronavirus pandemic spread risk.

With the resumption of the visa services, holders of all types of visa and/or entry permits granted by authorities in the UAE can fly to Dubai.

However, the passengers from many countries including Nepal traveling to the UAE are required to produce a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code issued within 48 hours of the time the sample was collected from an approved health facility, a rapid PCR test report with a QR code for a test conducted at the departure airport within six hours of departure.

The travelers should also have been inoculated against the coronavirus.

In Nepal, even before the visit visa of UAE opened, the number of people going for visit visa at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal had increased alarmingly.
