Suppression began as soon as I left govt: UML Chair Oli



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the suppression began as soon as he left the government.

Addressing UML’s Standing Committee meeting at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation in Chyasal, Lalitpur, Monday, UML Chair Oli stressed that communists were needed for the development and good governance in the country.

“The day after we left the government, restrictions on institutions such as Nepal Scouts were imposed,” he said. Oli rued that where 200 people were not allowed to gather earlier, the next day a different party gathered over 450 people at the same place.

Oli added, “When the scout cadres came from different districts, they were made to get off the buses and they were barred from holding their scheduled program. Repression has already begun. People are being restricted.” He claimed that such moves were just a trailer of repression.

Oli has warned the government to rectify such steps. “We protest such moves and, if necessary, we will resist,” he said.
