Mets predict moderate to heavy rainfall Sunday



KATHMANDU: The Hydrology and Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate to heavy rain in many places across the country Sunday.

The weather throughout the country will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas.

The formation of a monsoon low-pressure line near the southern part of the country has increased the possibility of rain, it said.

On Sunday afternoon, there will be a change in the weather across the country.

The country is likely to witness rain and thundershowers at a few places of the hilly regions, the Department said.

Meanwhile, the weather tonight will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.

Due to the effect of monsoon winds, some places of Province 1 is likely to witness rainfall today afternoon.

Likewise, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and one or two places in the far western region.
