MELAMCHI: The water level in the Melamchi River has risen once again to an alarming level after heavy rains, inundating several houses near the river bank.

People of Melamchi have been forced to vacate their houses and move to safer places due to the threat of flooding in the river.

The floods in the Melamchi River last month had caused damage to properties worth millions including several deaths.

Authorities have cautioned the general public to adopt high alerts measures with the rise in the water current.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the downstream areas of the river are more vulnerable to floods.
