Flooding blocks East-West Highway at Gaidakot

NAWALPARASI: The East-West Highway has been obstructed after diversions at Thumsi in Gaidakot along Bardaghat-Susta East have been swept away by flooding caused by incessant rain since Wednesday night.

As a result, hundreds of passenger vehicles and vehicles carrying goods have been stuck midway.

Of seven diversions created to expand the highway, four have been damaged, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri. It will be difficult to repair the damaged road diversions until the water level decreases, said police.
