KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting is underway at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting has been held two hours later than the scheduled time.
UML leader and Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali said that the meeting is discussing the party’s internal activities and the current political developments.
The meeting is also likely to take action against 12 UML leaders who had earlier signed in favor of making Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister.
Earlier, the meeting which was scheduled for Sunday was postponed to Monday morning.
However, the meeting was again postponed to Tuesday.
The party has already expelled senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Bhim Rawal, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhankri, Kalyani Khadka, Sarala Yadav, Pushpa Karna, Laxmi Chaudhary, Kalila Khatun, and Niradevi Jairu from the party.
Likewise, the party has also sent explanation letters have to leaders, including Surendra Pandey, Som Prasad Pandey, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Krishnalal Maharjan, Birodh Khatiwada, Jhapat Rawal, Bhawani Prasad Khapung, Yagya Sunuwar, Metmani Chaudhary, Deepak Prakash Bhatt, and Narayan Khatiwada.
They are yet to respond to the letters yet.
