SC hearing writs today;  Justices KC and Shrestha to decide whether to quit bench



KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Bench (CB) is hearing the writ petitions filed againt the dissolution of the House of Represntives (HoR) on Tuesday.

The hearing, which was underway on 30 writ petitions, was hit after questions were raised over two Justices in the CB Tej Bahadur KC and  Bam Kumar Shrestha.

Following a heated discussion between Chief Justic Cholendra Shumsher Rana and an advocate, CJ Rana had asked Justices KC and Shrestha to decide on their own whether to quit the bench.

According to a Supreme Court source, they will present their views on it in the CB on Tuesday.

Five Justices on Monday had dwelled on this issue in the CB.

Senior Justices have advised CJ Rana not to keep KC and Shrestha in the CB following criticisms from all quarters.
