Provide relief to people rendered jobless by COVID-19: Prachanda tells govt

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has urged the government to provide relief to those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19.

Expressing best wishes on the occasion of 132nd International Workers’ Day, which is also known as May Day, Prachanda made an appeal to all including political cadres and social workers to wholeheartedly lend a hand to those who have been facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the former Prime Minister urged all the workers to be aware and adopt health precautions against COVID-19 and wished them a healthy and long life.

Stating that the development and prosperity of the country are impossible unless the rights of the workers are ensured, Prachanda criticized the Oli-led government for often attacking the constitutional achievements made through the long struggles of the workers.

He called on all the workers to stand united for the protection of their rights ensured in the Constitution.
