COVID-19: CCMC recommends halting domestic and int’l flights

KATHMANDU: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has recommended the government to shut down both domestic and international flight services.

A meeting of CCMC held in Singha Durbar on Friday evening made such recommendation to the government in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The CCMC meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel called for an effective implementation of the decisions taken earlier and further bolstering health management system for the prevention and control of the pandemic, said Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

Similarly, the CCMC also recommended the government to take additional steps to break the chain of the increasing cases of COVID-19 to stop the pandemic from spreading further.

Minister Gyawali informed that the CCMC recommended halting domestic and international flights and reducing the number of flights.

According to Gyawali, the CCMC recommended that the international flights from those countries hit by the COVID-19 should be stopped and that the number of domestic flights be reduced as part of measures to control and prevent the COVID-19.
