11 COVID-19 infected die in Karnali, Sudurpaschim

KATHMANDU: A total of 11 people died due to COVID-19  in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces on Friday.

The Health Service Directorate of Social Development Ministry of Karnali Province Government issued a press statement stating that eight deaths were recorded due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This is the highest single-day death in Karnali Province after the outbreak of the virus.

Acting Director of the Directorate Dr Rabin Khadka said that the deceased are from Panchapuri Municipality and Birendranagar Municipality in Surkhet district, Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality in Salyan, Musikot Municipality in Rukum West and Narayan Municipality in Dailekh district.

According to the Directorate, four patients succumbed to the virus in Province Hospital and one each in Salyan, Rukum West and Dailekh district hospitals.

With the recent data, the death toll caused due to COVID-19 reached 47 in Karnali.

Likewise, three persons died COVID-19 in Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, a 45-year-old man of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-8, a 43-year-old man of Lamkichuha Municipality and a 40-year-old woman of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-5 died in the hospital while receiving treatment for coronavirus, Hospital’s Information Officer Dilip Kumar Shrestha said.
