PM Oli’s Press Advisor deletes tweet after outrage in social media

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa has removed a tweet that he posted at around 4 pm after twitter users condemned it.

Thapa had tweeted the image of Supreme Court’s decision of quashing CPN (Moaist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ application filed to review the court’s decision on nullification of Nepal Communist Party (NCP). He had also posted a photo of Prachanda, which was clicked during the leader’s son’s demise in Pashupati Aryaghat, along with the image of SC decision.

The PM’s advisor removed the tweet following backlash from twitter users, who termed Thapa’s tweet as insensitive. Social media user were of the view that Thapa’s act of tweeting the two photos together was unbecoming of someone in the post of PM’s Advisor.

Though the tweet has been deleted, its screenshot is doing rounds in social media.

An hour later, Thapa tweeted again, this time only with the image of SC decision.
