Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi appears in court

NAYPYITAW: Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi has appeared in court via video on Monday, BBC has reported.

Suu Kyi appeared to be in good health and asked to see her legal team, according to her lawyers.

Reports said she has been held in an undisclosed location since the coup on 1 February in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, protesters have taken to the streets on Monday. As many as 18 protestors were killed on Sunday.

Protesters have been demanding the elected government be restored and Suu Kyi and other leaders of the National League for Democracy (NLD), be released from detention, BBC said.

The Myanmar military has said it seized power because of alleged fraud in the November’s general elections that saw the NLD win by a landslide.
