Prachanda-Nepal faction holding SC meeting prior to CC meeting

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a Standing Committee (SC) meeting prior to the central committee meeting on Monday.

The SC meeting, which is taking place at Karki Banquet in Babarmahal, will set the agendas to be discussed in the CC meeting today, said a leader close to Prachanda.

Earlier this morning, top-notch leaders of the disgruntled faction had met at Peris Danda. The SC meeting slated for 11 am to fix agendas had been postponed for 1 pm.

The SC meeting will dwell on the mass meeting to be held in Kathmandu on February 10 among other contemporary issues including the legitimacy of the party, said spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the House Representatives, demanding reinstatement of the HoR.
