Two patients who died in Bir Hospital test negative for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: A man and a woman who had died at the isolation ward of Bir Hospital have tested negative for COVID-19.

Dr. Bidhyanidhi Poudel at the hospital said that their throat swabs were sent to the National Public Health Laboratory for a test.

The test reports came negative for coronavirus, he added.

According to the hospital Director Dr. Kedar Century, a woman, 37, who was admitted to the hospital on Sunday died in the course of treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

The woman hails from Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu and was suffering from diabetics, urine infection and hypertension.

She had a slight fever when admitted to the hospital. The woman was shifted to ICU after her health condition worsened.

The test report of a man, 50, who died in the course of treatment at Bir Hospital on Monday also came negative for COVID-19.

Earlier, it was verified that a youth, suspected for coronavirus, who died in while undergoing treatment at the Patan Hospital ICU on Monday did not have coronavirus infection.
