88,000 gas cylinders distributed in three days

At the time when people are complaining of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders shortage, the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has claimed that it has distributed 88,000 cylinders in three days.

According to Spokesperson at NOC, Binit Mani Upadhyaya, 87,630 LPG cylinders were distributed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

FNCCI contributes Rs 5 million to CIPCT Fund

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has provided Rs 5 million to the Coronavirus Infection Prevention, Control and Treatment Fund.

The FNCCI team handed over the monetary assistance to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Ishwor Pokharel, who is the coordinator of the High-level Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 pandemic.

14 tourists including one Nepali rescued from Lukla

Fourteen tourists including one Nepali stranded in Lukla have been rescued. According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) the NA aircraft with 14 tourists on board landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 7:45 am.

NTB informed that all the airlifted have been taken to a Thamel-based hotel after the rescue.

NRB cuts policy rates, defers all loan repayments until mid-July

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) issued a circular to all the banks and financial institutions (BFIs) instructing them to extend the deadline of mid-April for the repayment of monthly or quarterly installment of any loans until mid-July.

The NRB has introduced several relief measures aimed at providing relaxation on repayment of loans for businesses and individuals impacted by the Covid-19, ease liquidity in the banking system and promote electronic transactions and payment.
