RPP, RPP United agree for party unification



KATHMANDU: Two years after the party split, the two groups of mother party Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have begun the process for the party unification.

During the meeting held between RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa and Chairman duo of RPP United Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, the leaders agreed for unification.

Following the agreement for the unification, RPP Chairman Thapa postponed the meeting of the central working committee on Friday after tabling a political dossier.

Leaders said a formal announcement for unification will be made soon.

As per the agreement, Thapa, Rana and Lohani will lead the party. The central committee will comprise 55 percent leaders from RPP and 45 percent leader from RPP United.

The leaders agreed to finalize the election symbol from the next general convention.
