VTEN removes controversial song, apologizes to police

KATHMANDU: Popular Nepali rapper Samir Ghising alias VTEN accused of promoting obscenity and defaming the police through a song on YouTube has apologized.

Nepal Police Headquarters had directed Cyber Bureau to take action against him.

In a statement, the rapper has stated that he has removed the song at it offended ‘some bodies’.

He also said that the offensive words in the song have been removed and amended and the song will be made public soon.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and damaged caused to the concerned bodies and dignitaries by the song,” he said in the statement.

Earlier, Ghising was arrested for using obscene words and derogatory words against police. He was later released.
