Funeral ceremony hit after crematorium sealed in Dhangadhi

DHANGADHI:  The last rites for Mohammad Jamsed adversely affected for more than two days after the ward office of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-1, sealed the crematorium have been carried out on Saturday afternoon.

According to the relatives of the deceased, the ward office had sealed the area following a dispute that cropped up after Nepal Army cremated the dead body of a coronavirus-affected person at the crematorium.

The relatives demonstrated calling for permission to carry out the funeral ceremony for Jamsed as per their cultural tradition. They have also submitted an application seeking permission from the local government.

“We are in double grief now, first we have lost our guardian, and then the last rites for the departed soul is yet to be performed,” said Saddam, the deceased’s son, adding, “I fail to console my mother and siblings.”
