Two electrocuted to death in Chitwan



CHITWAN: Two people have died of electric shock in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-8 in Chitwan district.

The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Nawaraj Darai and Nirab Rana.

According to DSP Surya Bahadur Thapa of District Police Office, Chitwan, Darai and Rana were electrocuted to death while stealing fish from a fishpond based in Bharatpur-8 on Sunday night.

According to Thapa, they had died of electric shock from an electrified wire released by the fishpond operator to avert theft.

Police have also recovered a fishing net from the incident site. Police said they are investigating the case.
